Working on charter devolvement, getting used to how the Looi robots work and seeing how they interact with each other and other AI platforms.
For this project we ordered two new Looi robots and two new phones. With just inputs from us it was slow to start at first. But with some help from Chat GPT we were able to give Bit and Byte more personality. In this process we have learned how the prompting changes the Looi starting traits and that every new conversation feels like a fresh conversation. They do observe the room and can identify objects. They move around the table and respond to commands like go forward, turn right and turn to me. One of the first things we tried was to see if they could spin in a circle, after multiple attempts and the Looi moving the wrong direction we moved on. We also tried to get the Looi to go to the other side of the table but so far we haven’t accomplished that. Maybe more functionality can be added in through updates but also the limitations might be designed as a safeguard.
The interaction has been fun but makes me question more if AI can be more friends than i anticipated. The design of the Looi is to be your friend out of the box with no prompting and there are many other toys like this. Just makes me see the future where more people will be friends with different AI versions. Just like everyone has cellphones now in the future everyone will have some sort of robot and most will have personality’s. Positivity spreads positivity so i believe its important to be friendly with everything because the vibrations spread ripples through space and time and that can spark in ways we don’t understand. This project is helping me to see that.
